  • How long do homeowner repairs normally take?
Under normal circumstances, repairs take between 3 – 14 business days.
We make an effort to communicate with each and every customer in a timely manner and we will contact you when the estimate or repair is complete.  Calling us, requesting an update on your equipment, actually slows down the process and costs precious time.

We appreciate your business, you are a valued customer.

Should you have any questions, comments or concerns in connection with the above, please do not hesitate to
    contact us for more information.

Call or email us today for approximate turn around times.

Please Note:  Estimated Repair turn around times may vary due to seasonal volume spikes.  We recommend bringing your equipment in for preventative service before or after the cutting season for quicker service.

  • How long do commercial / landscaper repairs normally take?

Commercial customers are given priority during the repair process.  We understand that your equipment is what allows you to earn a living and that your professional reputation is on the line and that you have customers relying on you. <p style="MAR

We will make every effort to repair your equipment within 1-2 business days and will contact you as soon as your equipment is ready to be picked up.  If your equipment was purchased from The Tool Shack and is under warranty, we will make an effort to give you a piece of demo / loaner equipment while we perform repairs.  Please understand that loaner equipment is limited and we may not be able to do this in every instance.

                                          Normal Service & Repair Procedures

We normally strive to have our service center turn customer equipment around within an approximate 1-14 day period from the time that the equipment arrives at our shop until the unit is repaired and ready to be returned to the customer. This time frame is based on allowing our technicians sufficient time to perform the following:

a) Inspect the unit, in proper turn with any previous units already ahead of this unit in for service.

b) Provide any requested estimates to the customer and discuss any repair options with them when

     necessary.

c) Order any necessary service parts from the local parts distributor.*

d) Shipping time from the parts distributor to receive any necessary service parts.*

e) Time to properly repair the equipment and test it before return to the customer.

Occasionally this process may need to be repeated if service requires that one problem repaired before another problem can be addressed.

EXAMPLE: Repairing an engine starting problem may require replacement of the engine’s electric starter motor before the engine can be started/ cranked... at which time the technician may then discover that the engine needs an additional part for proper engine tune-up, resulting in another part and more labor time.

Warranty repair service time can also vary with seasonal volume spikes as a result of weather and large volumes of customers all wanting service simultaneously.

During peak periods of the season, such as Spring time mower tune-up time or in the case of an unusually hard Summer season, longer repair turn around times may result from these an increase in volume of maintenance requests and many customers wanting service simultaneously.

This is standard for the industry when peak seasonal surges arrive.

It’s a good idea for equipment owners to bring mowers and equipment in for routine maintenance either near the end of the mowing season (when dealer volume is generally less) or during the Winter months, so that the equipment can be serviced / repaired more quickly and the equipment will be ready to go when the Spring / Summer season returns.  This also applies to routine maintenance.  To make this process easier for our customers, we often run offers of special pricing, parts discounts, etc during the Winter months. Customers that knowingly wait to bring their equipment in for service when the cutting season returns, risk not having the unit ready in time for the season opener and longer wait times, as a result of long lines of customers all converging on our service center simultaneously.
No one wants repairs to take any longer than necessary. The tool Shack wants to repair your equipment and get paid quickly, just as much as you, the owner, wants to get their equipment back.

Quality repairs take time to do properly.

Rushing the service process only leads to the likelihood of mistakes and longer delays in getting the unit back to operating correctly.

Customers’ understanding of the repair process, cooperation, and patience is greatly appreciated.

* Although we stock many common service parts, it would be impossible for us to stock every possible repair part, for every brand and style unit, ever manufactured.  We place parts orders daily and
normally receive service parts from our regional parts distributor within 2-5 business days. This procedure is standard for the power equipment service industry.  Parts on backorder, from the regional distributor, may take slightly longer.
